Feb 10 (Reuters) – North American pipeline operator eVdEn eVe nakliyAt Enbridge Inc on Friday posted a quarterly loss from a year-ago profit as it took a non-cash C$2.5 billion ($1.86 billion) hit from higher cost of capital related to its natural gas transmission business.

U.S.refinery outages, eVDen evE NakliYAT a global glut of high sulphur fuel oil and the U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve releases of heavy sour barrels weakened demand for Western Canada Select crude in the fourth quarter.

Enbridge, a leading transporter of crude oil and natural gas, delivered 3.1 million barrels of oil per day (bpd) on its Mainline system, slightly higher than the 3 million bpd delivered a year ago.

The Calgary-based company lost C$1.07 billion, or 53 Canadian cents, in the fourth quarter, compared with a profit of C$1.84 billion, or 91 Canadian cents per share, in the year-ago quarter.

Gas transmission projects account for just over half of Enbridge’s C$18-billion, EVDEn eVE NaKliYAt multi-year capital program. When you have virtually any concerns concerning wherever and also the best way to employ EvDEN eve nAkLiYat, you are able to e-mail us at our web site. Chief Executive Greg Ebel told analysts that Enbridge is in good position to manage inflation because the timing of its projects is staggered.

On an adjusted basis, Enbridge earned 63 Canadian cents per share, missing analysts’ average expectation of 73 Canadian cents, according to Refinitiv data. The company cited rising interest rates in its lower adjusted earnings.

Enbridge shares rose 0.5% in Toronto.

Enbridge is in “constructive” negotiations with oil shippers on a new basis to charge for space on its Mainline, Ebel said, after the Canada Energy Regulator rejected in 2021 Enbridge’s plan to sell nearly all of its space under long-term contract.

Enbridge currently rations Mainline space monthly and faces new competition when the Trans Mountain pipeline expansion wraps up late this year.

The Mainline is Canada’s longest oil pipeline, moving crude from Western Canada to refineries in Eastern Canada and the U.S.Midwest. ($1 = 1.3447 Canadian dollars) (Reporting by Arshreet Singh and Rod Nickel; Editing by Devika Syamnath and EvdEN EvE nAKLiyAT Marguerita Choy)

Male escort husband of Phil Collins's ex demands she be thrown in jail https://www.announcement.news/male-escort-husband-of-phil-collinss-ex-demands-she-be-thrown-in-jail-17/ https://www.announcement.news/male-escort-husband-of-phil-collinss-ex-demands-she-be-thrown-in-jail-17/#respond Wed, 21 Jun 2023 07:36:40 +0000 https://www.announcement.news/?p=76331 The estranged boy toy husband of Phil Collins’s ex-wife Orianne Bates has asked a court to throw her in jail over unpaid bills for his leased $340,000 Aston Martin, DailyMail.com can exclusively reveal.

Former male escort Thomas Bates, 33, has filed a motion in their demanding Orianne, 49, is incarcerated for nearly six months for contempt because she failed to make up overdue lease payments after being ordered to pay by the judge – and instead jetted off to Europe.

His attorney alleges the former wife of retired pop legend Phil, 72, has ‘not paid a penny’ and continues to ‘thumb her nose’ at Broward County Circuit Court in Fort Lauderdale, .

‘Instead of complying with the Court’s order, Wife flew to Paris and then jetted to Switzerland for the holidays, posting extremely “filtered” photographs of herself and her children all over the internet, proudly displaying her carefree lifestyle,’ Bates’s attorney Deborah Bianchi Tracht wrote.

‘Simultaneously herewith, Husband is filing a Motion for Writ for Issuance of a Writ of Bodily Arrest…’

Former male escort Thomas Bates, 33, has filed a motion in his bitter divorce battle demanding Orianne, 49, is incarcerated for nearly six months for contempt

The attorney adds in the new filing: ‘Husband eVdeN EVe NaKliYat requests that Wife be held in Contempt and that she be incarcerated in the Broward County jail for one hundred and seventy nine (179) days or until further order of this Court or until she pays the purge amount totally the full amount past due on the Aston Martin.’

Court records show Orianne has been ordered four times to make up the payments on the 2021 supercar, which she has previously demanded Bates returns because of her ‘dire financial straits’.

It has a James Bond-style TB 007 license plate and costs an incredible $6,594.40 a month to lease, according to legal documents obtained by DailyMail.com.

The jail threat is the latest twist in the saga that saw the couple wed in secret in Las Vegas in August 2020 while Orianne was still living with rocker Phil at his oceanfront mansion in Miami Beach - but split spectacularly just 16 months later.

Bates’s attorney alleges Orianne has ‘not paid a penny’ and instead flew to Paris

Former tribute band guitarist Bates, who failed in his bid for a music career in Los Angeles before his secret nuptials, claims he was forced to sign the car lease at a Miami dealership and that Orianne had promised to make the payments.

But the battle of the Aston Martin is just from both sides in a divorce fight now entering its 15th month.

And as the warring couple continue to wrangle over assets, DailyMail.com can reveal the spectacular spending of Orianne as certified in her own court documents.

The Swiss-born jewelry designer bagged a $47million payout from Genesis legend Phil in their 2008 divorce. But she lost a bid for half his $40million Miami Beach mansion after reuniting with him in 2015 – then astonishingly setting up home there with Bates before the couple were evicted.

During their stay, Orianne publicly splurged on gifts for her new husband as they drove around Miami in her leased Bentley, stopping off at exclusive stores in the city’s Design District.

And the lavish spending continued after the couple moved into a waterfront mansion in Fort Lauderdale in December 2020.

Bates claims Orianne insisted he lease a $340,000 Aston Martin for $6,500 per month because she wanted him to be like James Bond.It even had license plates with the number TB 007. But now he’s suing her over unpaid bills for the car

Bates’s attorney Deborah Bianchi Tracht wrote in their filing: ‘Instead of complying with the Court’s order, Wife flew to Paris and then jetted to Switzerland for the holidays, posting extremely “filtered” photographs of herself and her children all over the internet, proudly displaying her carefree lifestyle’

Orianne has been ordered four times to make up the payments on the 2021 supercar, which she has previously demanded Bates returns because of her ‘dire financial straits’

Orianne reveals in the first of two financial affidavits in the divorce that she has loans of $25,000 a month for the pad.

She also said she spent $60,000 a month on clothes, $25,000 a month on vacations and $6,900 a month on ‘grooming’ – with total monthly outgoings of $285,746.

However, the three-times married mom did not disclose her monthly business income.Instead, she stated she gets $5,000 a month from selling clothes and jewelry online.

Orianne paid $5.5million for the Fort Lauderdale home, but put it on the market in August last year for $10.95million after Bates moved out months before. However, it has failed to sell and on Monday she dropped the price to $8.9million.

The spectacular six-bedroom, eight-bathroom home with a stunning pool is financed with a $3million loan from Shellpoint Mortgage Servicing, the legal papers reveal.

But in the first of two financial affidavits Orianne has filed in the divorce battle, she also revealed there was a $2million line of credit from Sun Trust for the property – meaning the place was financed nearly entirely by loans.

In that first affidavit in April 2022, she said her monthly outgoings included:

  • Mortgage $24,729
  • Property taxes $7,211
  • Grooming: $6,900
  • Pet expenses: $5,116
  • Club dues and membership: $2,723
  • Sports and hobbies: $6,500
  • Vacations: $25,000
  • Electricity: $1,002
  • Telephone/cell phone: $1,500
  • Food and home supplies: $2,500
  • Meals outside home: $2,400
  • Maid service: $3,600
  • House employees: $19,500
  • Car gas and oil: EvDEN EvE NakLiyaT $1,200
  • Car wash: $450
  • Health insurance: $2,335
  • Life insurance: $12,500
  • Life insurance for three children: $4,500
  • Dry cleaning and laundry: $2,000
  • Clothing: $60,000
  • Medical, dental and prescriptions: $6,000
  • Non-prescription meds, cosmetics, toiletries: $2,000

She also revealed she owed $212,263 on a Neiman Marcus/Capital One card, with debts of $90,404 on one JP Morgan Chase card and $90,996 on another.

In an amended financial affidavit filed in July 2022, she reduced many of those figures, but still came up with total monthly expenses of $146,555.

Orianne later testified she had further drastically reduced her outgoings to $6,000 a month, according to a summary by Judge Natasha DePrimo in the most recent ruling over the Aston Martin on January 13.

Bates’s attorney had cited Orianne’s higher amount in the latest enforcement bid.

And Judge DePrimo said in her summary: ‘She (Orianne) testified that they are now $6,000 per month, but no specific evidence was introduced substantiating the $140,000 reduction in expenses….

‘The court finds that there was insufficient evidence presented as to the Wife’s inability to pay and maintain the status quo.’

DailyMail.com can reveal the spectacular spending of Orianne, including a monthly mortgage payment of $24,729, house employees for $19,500 and $60,000 in clothing

Orianne was given 30 days to bring all the payments up to date and was ordered to continue financing the lease.

DailyMail.com Orianne picked up Bates from a male escort site where he advertised himself as a ‘sexy intellectual, with degrees in philosophy and political science.

But once she moved him into rock star Phil’s mansion their fiery relationship saw her physically assault her new husband ‘on several occasions’ – once threatening to cut off his ‘private parts’, according to court documents.

Orianne picked up Bates from a male escort site where he advertised himself as a ‘sexy intellectual, with degrees in philosophy and political science’

Bates was on the books of a company called Cowboys 4 Angels, using the name Ryan, while he was in Los Angeles, after moving from Florida to try to make it in the music business.

But he headed back to his home state when things didn’t work out as planned. It is understood the couple had their first meeting at an exclusive five-star hotel in Miami Beach.

On the Cowboys 4 Angels website, ‘Ryan in Los Angeles’ was touted as ‘the classic, charismatic Los Angeles gentleman, who is definitely guaranteed to exceed your expectations and show you an unforgettable experience!’

He was pictured sporting designer stubble and showing off his tanned six-pack with an open plaid shirt and with one hand behind his head.

‘Originally from the east coast, this sexy intellectual is well-educated, having obtained collegiate degrees in Philosophy and Political Science, further reinforcing his ability to thrive in social and formal situations requiring stimulating, impressive and thought-provoking conversation,’ continued the blurb.

‘Ryan currently works as a personal trainer and musician… some of Ryan’s main interests include art, fashion, traveling and live music.’

Orianne – whose maiden name is Cevey – was living with Collins when she allegedly selected Bates after he had returned to Florida, where court papers suggest he was still working as an escort.

Bates’s legal team revealed how they first got together in answers to Orianne’s divorce petition.

‘At the time the parties met, Husband was employed by an escort service,’ they wrote.

‘The Wife selected Husband through the escort service and insisted on dating him.If you have any queries about in which and how to use evdEN EVe NAKLiyAt, you can get hold of us at the web page. The parties’ relationship rapidly progressed into a meaningful romantic relationship. Wife persuaded Husband to leave the escort service to marry her.’

‘Husband moved from California to Florida on or about July 2020 and rented an apartment in Delray Beach, Florida. After the parties married, Wife insisted that Husband leave the sanctuary of his Delray apartment and move into the Collins residence in Miami with Wife.

‘The Wife clearly understood that Husband’s life would be turned upside down and the Husband and Wife would be sued by Phil Collins once Husband moved into the Collins residence.’

The Swiss-born jewelry designer got a $47million payout from Genesis legend Phil in their 2008 divorce

Bates claims he received the alleged threat to slice off his genitals after returning to the couple’s new Fort Lauderdale mansion from spending Thanksgiving 2021 with his parents at their home in nearby Lighthouse Point.

He arrived to find Orianne had ‘secretly removed’ his clothes and other possessions and he asked for them back.

‘Wife, who has a ferocious temper, threatened Husband with bodily harm (by cutting off his private parts) when he asked for his clothes and personal property’, said his filing.

‘The Wife, who has earned a 3rd degree black belt designation and is trained in boxing, previously physically assaulted Husband on several occasions prior to separation. On one occasion, Husband had to scream for the housekeeper to help him exit the house to avoid Wife’s assault.

‘Husband voluntarily vacated the marital residence for his safety.’

Orianne’s attorneys have attacked Bates during the battle, writing: ‘The Husband has not only syphoned funds from the Wife, eVdEN eve nakLiyat but the Wife is now heavily encumbered and has limited cash flow. She has been relying on assets to meet expenses.

‘Unfortunately the Wife has hit the wall.’

Alphabet shares dive after Google AI chatbot Bard flubs answer in ad https://www.announcement.news/alphabet-shares-dive-after-google-ai-chatbot-bard-flubs-answer-in-ad-20/ https://www.announcement.news/alphabet-shares-dive-after-google-ai-chatbot-bard-flubs-answer-in-ad-20/#respond Thu, 25 May 2023 04:38:09 +0000 https://www.announcement.news/?p=73471 By Martin Coulter and Greg Bensinger

LONDON, Feb 8 (Reuters) – Alphabet Inc lost $100 billion in market value on Wednesday after its new chatbot shared inaccurate information in a promotional video and a company event failed to dazzle, feeding worries that the Google parent is losing ground to rival Microsoft Corp.

Alphabet shares slid as much as 9% during regular trading with volumes nearly three times the 50-day moving average. They pared losses after hours and eVDen evE NAkliyaT were roughly flat. The stock had lost 40% of its value last year but rallied 15% since the beginning of this year, excluding Wednesday’s losses.

Reuters was first to point out an error in Google’s advertisement for chatbot Bard, which debuted on Monday, about which satellite first took pictures of a planet outside the Earth’s solar system.

Google has been on its heels after OpenAI, a startup Microsoft is backing with around $10 billion, introduced software in November that has wowed consumers and become a fixation in Silicon Valley circles for its surprisingly accurate and well-written answers to simple prompts.

Google’s live-streamed presentation on Wednesday morning did not include details about how and when it would integrate Bard into its core search function. A day earlier, Microsoft held an event touting that it had already released to the public a version of its Bing search with ChatGPT functions integrated.

Bard’s error was discovered just before the presentation by Google, based in Mountain View, California.

“While Google has been a leader in AI innovation over the last several years, they seemed to have fallen asleep on implementing this technology into their search product,” said Gil Luria, senior software analyst at D.A.Davidson. “Google has been scrambling over the last few weeks to catch up on Search and that caused the announcement yesterday (Tuesday) to be rushed and the embarrassing mess up of posting a wrong answer during their demo.”

Microsoft shares rose around 3% on Wednesday, and were flat in post-market trading.

Alphabet posted a short GIF video of Bard in action via Twitter, promising it would help simplify complex topics, but it instead delivered an inaccurate answer.

In the advertisement, Bard is given the prompt: “What new discoveries from the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) can I tell my 9-year old about?” Bard responds with a number of answers, including one suggesting the JWST was used to take the very first pictures of a planet outside the Earth’s solar system, or EVDEN EVE naKLiyAt exoplanets. The first pictures of exoplanets were, however, taken by the European Southern Observatory’s Very Large Telescope (VLT) in 2004, as confirmed by NASA.

“This highlights the importance of a rigorous testing process, something that we’re kicking off this week with our Trusted Tester program,” a Google spokesperson said.In the event you loved this article and you wish to receive more information with regards to eVDEN EVe nAKLiyAT assure visit our webpage. “We’ll combine external feedback with our own internal testing to make sure Bard’s responses meet a high bar for quality, safety and groundedness in real-world information.”

FORMIDABLE COMPETITOR

Alphabet is coming off a disappointing fourth quarter as advertisers cut spending.

The search and advertising giant is moving quickly to keep pace with OpenAI and rivals, reportedly bringing in founders Sergey Brin and Larry Page to accelerate its efforts.

“People are starting to question is Microsoft going to be a formidable competitor now against Google’s really bread-and-butter business,” said King Lip, chief strategist at Baker Avenue Wealth Management, which owns Alphabet and Microsoft shares.

Lip cautioned, though, that concerns about Alphabet may be overblown, saying: “I think still Bing is a far, far cry away from Google’s search capabilities.”

The new ChatGPT software has injected excitement into technology firms after tens of thousands of job cuts in recent weeks and executive pledges to pare back on so-called moonshot projects.AI has become a fixation for tech executives who have mentioned it as much as six times more often on recent earnings calls than in prior quarters, Reuters found.

The appeal of AI-driven search is that it could spit out results in plain language, rather than in a list of links, evDEN eve NAKliyaT which could make browsing faster and more efficient. It remains unclear what impact that might have on targeted advertising, the backbone of search engines like Google.

Chatbot AI systems also carry risks for corporations because of inherent biases in their algorithms that can skew results, sexualize images or even plagiarize, as consumers testing the service have discovered.Microsoft, for instance, released a chatbot on Twitter in 2016 that quickly began generating racist content before being shut down. And an AI used by news site CNET was found to produce factually incorrect or plagiarized stories.

At the time of writing, the Bard ad had been viewed on Twitter more than a million times.

Airline Flybe has https://www.announcement.news/airline-flybe-has-17/ https://www.announcement.news/airline-flybe-has-17/#respond Wed, 24 May 2023 11:15:45 +0000 https://www.announcement.news/?p=73377 Airline Flybe has , leaving 75,000 passengers facing uncertainty about how how to get refunds or replacement flights.

Flybe was a small-scale airline with eight planes flying 21 routes to 17 destinations across the UK and Europe.

But the firm said it had gone into administration in a shock announcement over the weekend.

The firm employed 321 workers, evden EVe NAkliYAt 277 of whom have lost their jobs while the rest will stay on to help with winding the airline down.

A Flybe statement on January 28 said: ‘Flybe has now ceased trading. All Flybe flights from & to the UK are cancelled & will not be rescheduled.’

However, there are several ways Flybe customers can get refunds or alternative flights.

Collapse: Flybe mostly ran flights within the UK, using a limited fleet of aircraft

Can I get a refund if I bought directly from Flybe?

Yes, but this is not guaranteed and depends on how you paid for a ticket.

If you booked a ticket directly with Flybe using a credit card, you may be protected under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974, according to the Civil Aviation Authority.

If you pay for something worth more than £100 using a credit card, your credit card provider may have a legal obligation to refund you if that product or service isn’t delivered or isn’t as described.

If you paid for tickets worth less than £100 using a credit card, or EvdeN EVE nakLiYAT paid with a debit or charge card, you may be able to make a claim under chargeback rules.

The voluntary chargeback system sees banks issue refunds for cash spent on goods and services that never materialise.

Customers may also be able to get a refund if they bought travel insurance for their Flybe trip.

However, they will need to check their policy terms as many travel insurance deals do not cover airline failure, according to financial data firm Defaqto.

Anna-Marie Duthie, travel insurance expert at Defaqto, said: ‘With flights and EVdEN eve nAKliyat holidays cancelled as a result of the Flybe collapse, a lot of people’s holidays will be ruined over the coming months. Should you liked this post along with you would like to be given more details relating to EvdEn eve nAKliyat i implore you to visit our web site.

‘Whilst airline failure has become more available under travel insurance in recent years, nearly half of annual travel insurance policies still offer no cover.’

What about if I bought through a third party?

If you bought Flybe tickets through a third party firm such as a travel or booking agent, the CAA advice is to contact them directly for any refund.

IT worker Lisa Morris, 50, says she hired a company called Eva-Lution to renovate her Llanharan home but the work suddenly stopped last November.

She says she paid the builders £52,900 for EVden eve NAKLiyat work including a kitchen extension – but she claims her kitchen has been left with exposed wires, bare brick walls and no ceiling.

Now Ms Morris, claims her property has ‘no kitchen, having ripped the previous kitchen out’ and that she is ’emotionally and physically exhausted’ and living on ‘microwave and air fryer meals.’

Ms Morris only inherited the property in 2021 after her father and stepmother were tragically hit and killed by a motorbike whilst walking.

Lisa Morris, 50, says that the renovation works have cost her over £50k and still aren’t done

Ms Morris says she has been forced to live in the half finished house for weeks

She said: ‘What makes it worse is that it’s their house.I was renovating it with money my dad had gifted me shortly before he passed away.

‘The house was all I had left of them. I’m emotionally and physically exhausted – this has consumed my life for months.

‘I took time off work but I’ve had to go back because I can’t afford not to work, with the situation I’m in.’

Eva-Lution, whose director is 27-year-old Chloe Eva, had eight employees in 2022, according to Companies House. If you have any concerns pertaining to where and how to use eVdEn eVe nAkliyAt, you can call us at our own page.

Ms Eva denied the work on Ms Morris’ home was of a poor standard and claimed it was halted due to a ‘cash flow issue’.

She said Ms Morris rejected the offer of a £24,544 refund for parts of the job left unfinished.

Ms Morris, who previously lived in rented accommodation, had hoped the renovation would be complete by the time she moved into the house.

She heard about Eva-Lution in June last year through a recommendation and paid a £3,500 deposit the following month.

As work progressed over the following weeks, Ms Morris transferred more money for materials.

In early September she went to Howdens with a member of Eva-Lution’s team and chose a kitchen.

She transferred £11,000 to Eva-Lution but claims she only later learned that Howdens had never received payment for the kitchen.

Ms Morris says the state of the house has impacted her mental health

The garden is still half finished and scattered with building materials

According to Ms Eva, her company had ordered the kitchen but had not paid Howdens.

An Eva-Lution worker told Ms Morris by text that all the upstairs, living room and EVDEn eVE NAKliyat front-of-house work would be done by October 16, adding: ‘Hopefully we will have the extension built with just the inside left to do.’

Because of this she arranged the end of her tenancy for October 16 but she claims it eventually became ‘apparent that the house wouldn’t be liveable’ by that date, so she extended her lease by a month.

Ms Morris claims she moved in on November 5 with no kitchen, no cloakroom, an unfinished hallway and a garden ‘like a building site’.

She added: ‘I went on holiday on November 12 and was told that the frame of the extension would be up by the time I got home.Again this did not materialise.’

On November 28 the company told Ms Morris there was a cash flow issue but a £250,000 investment would be in its accounts by December 2.

‘I was also told at this point that they didn’t even have enough money to pay for the cement, so I gave them £400 to get the necessary materials so the footings could be completed,’ she added.

Eva-Lution workers have not attended Ms Morris’ home since the end of November when concrete was laid for footings.

She alleges that the extension’s timber frame never arrived and that another builder has since told her the footings were laid incorrectly and will have to be removed.

Ms Eva disputes this and claims the footings were laid after consultation with a structural engineer.

She added: ‘I do not believe the work carried out was to a poor standard, and during the works no issue or complaint was raised about the quality or standard of work.’

Ms Morris said the job was meant to cover a fully fitted kitchen with appliances.’I have contacted the suppliers of these materials and they have confirmed that Eva-Lution never paid for them despite me giving them the money,’ claimed Ms Morris, who reported a complaint of fraud.

Wires hang down from the ceiling in the property which has not been completed

Responding to the claim of fraud, Ms Eva said staff stopped working on Ms Morris’ property due to a cash flow issue after her own company was a ‘victim of fraudulent activity and non-payment of invoices’ by another business.

Asked about the investment, she claimed this was set to be completed at the beginning of January but ‘when the funds were due to be transferred, there was an issue due to the fraud case that Ms Morris has put on the business bank account’.

‘By this time, other accounts and clients then had further frustrations with needing to wait for works to re-commence, and the investor pulled out due to there being so many issues,’ said Ms Eva.

‘If the fraud case was not on the account, the funds would have gone through and we could be in a position to resolve any company conflicts.’

She added that the kitchen was ordered through Howdens but Eva-Lution was waiting for the investment to come through before the kitchen could be obtained.Eva-Lution offered to pay Ms Morris £24,544, which Ms Eva described as a ‘fair refund’ due to work already completed.

‘This included the purchase price of the kitchen which, due to the issue and us not being able to obtain the investment funds, was not settled,’ said Ms Eva.

Ms Eva claimed funds had never been taken from clients to cover business overheads but she said Eva-Lution was hit by the alleged fraud of another company.

She said:  ‘Due to the situation we found ourselves in…direct debits and standing orders of Eva-Lution were still being taken from our account which ate into funds we had received from clients.

‘This is not how we have run the company through the duration. However, due to the circumstance/situation this is what happened.Again, this is why Ms Morris was offered the settlement figure, to cover this cost.’

Ms Morris, who claims her home needs around £40,000 worth of repairs, has declined the offer of £24,544 and sent a letter before action to Eva-Lution, which has begun the process of liquidation.

‘It was never our intention for the company to go into liquidation,’ said Ms Eva, but she confirmed there have been other threats of legal action and described liquidation as ‘our safest option as a company’.

Ms Morris has been relying on a microwave and air fryer to cook since moving in. ‘When I moved in, I was only expecting to live like this for a week,’ she said, adding that upcoming repair costs will leave her struggling financially.

Aside from the kitchen, Ms Morris claims a downstairs toilet and vanity unit are among the items paid for but never installed.

Ms Eva defended her company’s work which she says included new internal doors, plastering, painting, electrical works in the living room, a new upstairs bathroom, new radiators, rubbish removal, new light fittings, fitting of blinds supplied by Ms Morris, wardrobe work, re-routing of drainage and plumbing, and the ‘beginning of the extension’.

Ms Eva added: ‘If there was an issue with the quality it should have been brought to our attention before now.

‘Ms Morris was offered for the staff to return to the property before Christmas, which she denied and advised she was taking legal action and we were not to return.’

Difficulty measuring methane slows plan to slash emissions

NEW YORK (AP) – Satellites, drones and airplanes equipped with infrared cameras will likely be the backbone of a new federal policy to fine the nation´s largest methane polluters.

But the nascent industry has a long way to go before it can accurately measure just how much methane polluters are releasing. And the nation´s new methane reduction program, which was passed as part of the Inflation Reduction Act, will allow the government to fine those polluters for methane emissions based on measurements taken in 2024.

That leaves little time to get a reliable system in place.

Vladimir ‘s top allies in Russia are mocking America over the recent prisoner swap that saw the US release convicted arms dealer Viktor Bout in exchange for WNBA star , claiming that Russia got the better end of the deal.

Maria Butina, the pro-Putin MP elected to Russia’s Duma after serving a US prison sentence for acting as an unregistered foreign agent, led the charge in taunting the US over Thursday’s exchange.

‘The fact that Russia pushed through the exchange of Bout, whom America fundamentally did not want to give away for many years, right now means that, like in The Godfather, we “made them an offer that cannot be refused,”‘ Butina boasted in Russian on her Telegram channel.

‘This is a position of strength, comrades,’ added Butina, who was deported back to Russia in 2019 after serving an 18-month sentence in the US.

On Thursday, the US and Russia announced that Griner, who was sentenced to nine years of hard prison time on cannabis-related charges, had been exchanged for Bout.

The controversial swap took place in Abu Dhabi, and eVden eVe nAKLiYAT Russian TV showed Bout in a private jet on the flight to Russia, getting his blood pressure checked, speaking with his family by phone and saying, ‘I love you very much.’

Bout’s mother, Raisa, thanked President Vladimir Putin and the Foreign Ministry for freeing her son, Tass reported. It added that he would be invited to speak to lawmakers on the Duma’s International Affairs committee.

On Channel One Russia, the state-run news outlet widely watched in Russia, an announcer hailed Bout as a ‘legendary figure’ who had suffered ‘persecution’ and ‘illegal extradition to the United States’.

Online comments from Russian-speakers also tended to celebrate Bout’s release, with some hailing him as a ‘hero’. If you adored this article therefore you would like to receive more info with regards to eVdEn EvE NakliYAt generously visit our own web-page.

Other Russian-language comments were skeptical of the deal, and slammed Russia for imprisoning Griner.

‘Happy for Griner. But this creates an unpleasant precedent in the sense that it is already dangerous for any US citizen to visit Russia. They can make up any nonsense to keep them there,’ another person wrote.

Bout is widely known abroad as the ‘Merchant of Death’ international arms dealer who fueled some of the world’s worst conflicts.

The 2005 Nicolas Cage movie ‘Lord of War’ was loosely based on Bout, a former Soviet air force officer who gained fame supposedly by supplying weapons for civil wars in South America, the Middle East and Africa.

His clients were said to include Liberia’s Charles Taylor, longtime Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi and both sides in Angola’s civil war.

In Russia, however, he’s seen as a swashbuckling businessman who was unjustly imprisoned after an overly aggressive US sting operation.

Russia had pressed for Bout´s release for years and as speculation grew about such a deal, the upper house of parliament opened a display of paintings he made in prison – whose subjects ranged from Soviet dictator Josef Stalin to a kitten.

The show of his art underlined Bout’s complexities.Though in a bloody business, the 55-year-old was a vegetarian and classical music fan who is said to speak six languages.

Even the former federal judge who sentenced him in 2011 thought his 11 years behind bars was adequate punishment.

‘He´s done enough time for what he did in this case,’ Shira A.Scheindlin told The Associated Press in July as prospects for his release appeared to rise.

Griner, who was arrested at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport in February after vape canisters containing cannabis oil were found in her luggage, was sentenced in August to nine years in prison.

Washington protested her sentence as disproportionate, and some observers suggested that trading an arms merchant for someone jailed for a small amount of drugs would be a poor deal.

Bout was convicted in 2011 on terrorism charges.Prosecutors said he was ready to sell up to $20 million in weapons, including surface-to-air missiles to shoot down U.S. helicopters. When they made the claim at his 2012 sentencing, Bout shouted: ‘It’s a lie!’

Bout has steadfastly proclaimed his innocence, describing himself as a legitimate businessman who didn´t sell weapons.

Bout’s case fit well into Moscow’s narrative that Washington sought to trap and oppress innocent Russians on flimsy grounds.

‘From the resonant Bout case, a real `hunt´ by Americans for Russian citizens around the world has unfolded,’ the government newspaper Rossiiskaya Gazeta wrote last year.

Increasingly, Russia cited his case as a human rights issue. His wife and lawyer claimed his health deteriorated in the harsh prison environment where foreigners are not always eligible for breaks that Americans might receive.

Bout had not been scheduled to be released until 2029. He was held in a medium-security facility in Marion, eVDEN evE nAKliYaT Illinois.

‘He got a hard deal,’ said Scheindlin, the retired judge, noting the U.S.sting operatives ‘put words in his mouth’ so he’d say he was aware Americans could die from weapons he sold in order to require a terrorism enhancement that would force a long prison sentence, if not a life term.

Scheindlin gave Bout the mandatory minimum 25-year sentence but said she did so only because it was required.

Viktor Bout is escorted by members of a special police unit after a hearing at a criminal court in Bangkok October 5, 2010

At the time, his defense lawyer claimed the U.S.targeted Bout vindictively because it was embarrassed that his companies helped deliver goods to American military contractors involved in the war in Iraq.

The deliveries occurred despite United Nations sanctions imposed against Bout since 2001 because of his reputation as a notorious illegal arms dealer.

Prosecutors had urged Scheindlin to impose a life sentence, saying that if Bout was right to call himself nothing more than a businessman, ‘he was a businessman of the most dangerous order.’

Bout was estimated to be worth about $6 billion in March 2008 when he was arrested in Bangkok, Thailand.

U.S. authorities tricked him into leaving Russia for what he thought was a meeting over a business deal to ship what prosecutors described as ‘a breathtaking arsenal of weapons – including hundreds of surface-to-air missiles, machine guns and sniper rifles – 10 million rounds of ammunition and five tons of plastic explosives.’

He was taken into custody at a Bangkok luxury hotel after conversations with the Drug Enforcement Administration sting operation´s informants who posed as officials of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, also known as the FARC.The group had been classified by Washington as a narco-terrorist group.

He was brought to the U.S. in November 2010.

The ‘Merchant of Death’ moniker was attached to Bout by a high-ranking minister of Britain´s Foreign Office. The nickname was included in the U.S. government´s indictment of Bout.
