It’s hard to remember when the clocks go forward and back and luckily, our phones and digital watches do all of the hard work for us these days. The clocks change during the night so you’ll probably be asleep when it happens. When do the clocks go back this year?
The clocks go back an hour in October and forward an hour in March in order to make the most of natural daylight.
In the summer when the clocks go forward an hour, we get up earlier to get more sunlight.
In the winter, the clocks go back to give us an extra hour in bed while it’s still dark early in the morning.

Lots of people think changing the clocks is pointless and makes winter mornings dangerous because it’s too dark for children to go to school and workers driving to work.
However, it is unlikely that daylight savings will be scrapped in the UK, a 2019 YouGov poll suggests.
The poll found that 44 percent of Brits wanted to keep daylight savings, while 39 percent wanted to put a stop to the system.
