Mercury is in retrograde again – Here’s how the astrological transit will impact YOU

[ad_1]

Mercury retrograde is happening for the third time this year right now and it’s going to last until October 18. Mercury retrograde is known for chaos, miscommunication and forgetfulness, but this time the transit is going to have a positive spin. Express.co.uk reveals how Mercury retrograde will impact you, according to mystic and astrologer Francesca Oddie (@francescaoddieastrology on Instagram).

Mercury retrograde is the term for the optical illusion in the sky where it looks like Mercury is moving backwards in orbit.

In reality, Mercury is not actually moving backwards but it still impacts us as if it is.

Astrologer Francesca Oddie explained: “The planets orbiting the Sun all move in the same direction but because of the shape of their orbits and because the speed at which we move around the sun differs sometimes it appears that a planet is moving backwards in the sky.

“It’s like when two trains are travelling next to one another and the one going slower appears to be going backwards.

“They are both moving forwards but one is not moving as fast.”

Mercury is the planet of communication, travel, technology and exchange of information, so the backwards transit will always focus on the themes

Francesca warned: “Take EXTRA care with the things you delete, cancel and eradicate.

“This Mercury Retrograde stations within one degree of a tight square aspect to Pluto – there’s nothing lightweight about the next three weeks and, whilst I see nothing wrong with that, It certainly has a ‘hard-drive wiped’ vibe to it.”

As usual, you can expect miscommunications, disruptions and delays to occur, and you should be prepared for technological mishaps and surprises.

You may feel a little foggy over the next few weeks.

Francesca said: “Under a retrograde Mercury, clarity is missing.

“We are more intuitive but all the pieces of the puzzle aren’t there.

“However, we can be more direct in our approach from October 18.”

In light of this, Francesca reckons Mercury retrograde offers an empowering time to dig deep and get to know ourselves, through our relationships with others (especially because it’s in Libra).

This Mercury retrograde, expect to have heavy conversations.

Francesca explains the reason behind this through mythology and astrology combined.

The mystic said: “Last week it was Autumn Equinox, marking the time when Persephone returned to the underworld.

“It’s interesting that this Mercury Retrograde falls less than a week after this point, and sits in the sign of negotiation (Libra) square to Pluto (serious conversation that may involve a power struggle.)

“It’s also very interesting that at the time of Mercury Retrograde, the Moon in Gemini had just passed a conjunction with Ceres, Persephone’s mother.

“There was a highly communicative grand trine formed between these Gemini planets, get-real Saturn in Aquarius who has many rules pending as he begins to station direct on the October 11 and the Sun Mars conjunction in Libra.

“This is a conversation heavy chart.”

Negotiation and diplomacy are themes of this retrograde since it’s in the sign of the scales – Libra.

Francesca said: “This Mercury Pluto volcanic pressure requires all our best diplomacy skills and augurs a time to reconsider, review and dig into the nitty-gritty of our lives.

“Think about the bits you’ve left dormant as anything left to fester can be explored under this three-week sky.

“What rites of passage are you experiencing, which painful things have we put off addressing, and what secrets could we divulge, bring to the light and play with all the possible permutations like Mercury would?

“Big decisions made at this time and will remain under scrutiny in late October until November 1 when Mercury moves out of shadow.”

Mercury retrograde in Libra isn’t all bad, the themes of relationships, diplomacy and boundaries can be pleasant.

Francesca said: “I like Mercury Retrograde usually because I like the coincidences, opening up, alternative perspectives, slower pace and the chance to go back and tidy up ideas.

“I like the combination of Mercury moving backwards as the outer planets change direction – it’s got the feeling of people getting their act together.”

You’ll need to try and keep yourself calm throughout the transit, though.

Francesca recommends grounding yourself in purpose and the people you love.

She said: “Rest, renew, relax, reconsider, rethink, review.

“Listen, get creative, take the scenic route, go for some therapy and dig deep without needing immediate answers, and maybe learn some practical skills.

“Stick the kettle on, open a book, and see what the unseen world wants to communicate to you.”
