Pret A Manger currently has more than 300 stores in the UK as well as operating in a number of other global locations including the US, France and Hong Kong. Appearing on Sky News today, CEO Pano Christou explained the recovery the company has been able to make.
Appearing on the Today programme, the CEO explained that Pret A Manger is also looking to open in transport locations.
He said: “Our suburban footprint has done exceptionally well, and we’ve done some tests in motorway service stations that have equally gone well.
“The core city worker areas are still quieter than they were in 2019, we have seen a recovery and a step up.
“It seems Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays are much busier than Mondays and Fridays.
It plans to launch in America, where it has stores across the country.
Pret A Manger also now sells bake-at-home croissants and other foods through supermarkets such as Tesco.
Earlier this year, the sandwich chain said it will open cafes in some Tesco supermarkets, and the first one launched in June.
The company recently launched its autumnal menu with five food items including a burrito, tasty baguette and soup.
Briony Raven, UK Director of Food & Coffee, said: “We’re excited to be launching our new autumn menu which has a big focus on new hot food items and has an inspiration from food all over the world.”
The new menu items includes a chicken & chilli burrito, a chicken katsu baguette, chilli, bean and seed tortilla chips as well as a meatless meatball protein pot.
Customers are also able to pick up different flavoured soups, perfect for the cooler weather.
